There are many ways to partner with the team at Butler Health System (BHS) by volunteering. We are proud of our work and our team of excellent, caring, and compassionate volunteers who make it possible. Thank you for your interest in giving back to the community.
Committed to service, the BHS Auxiliary and Junior Auxiliary donate more than 30,000 hours of service annually. The BHS Auxiliary supports patient care by donating thousands of hours of volunteer service to the health system and provides financial support with the proceeds earned from a variety of special sales and events. The Candy Striper program offers high school students the opportunity to volunteer in a healthcare setting.
For more information on volunteer opportunities, call the Volunteer Coordinator at 724-284-4112. Interested in Volunteering? Click here to download an application.
Our Auxiliary is comprised of retired professionals, homemakers, hospital employees and is a valuable resource in assisting hospital staff. Membership is available to all qualifying applicants older than 18. Prospective members must complete an application. Call 724-284-4112 for more information about how to become a volunteer.
Young men and women who are at least 14 years old and in ninth through twelfth grade are given the opportunity to learn about the many different departments in the hospital and obtain exposure to its internal workings. The Candy Striper experience can also provide opportunities for setting goals and planning for a future career.
One of the goals of the program is to help create self-worth and experience personal satisfaction as these young men and women give their time and talents in service to others.
For information on the Junior Auxiliary, call 724-284-4578.
