What to Expect When You Arrive

When you arrive in Special Procedures the nurse will complete a health history which includes your medications with the dosages, connect you to a heart monitor and start an IV. You will be receiving conscious sedation so you will be comfortable throughout the procedure and because of the sedation you will not be allowed to drive untill the following day. Plan on being at the hospital for 3-5 hours. You will be instructed to rest the remainder of the day and will be allowed to resume normal activities the following day.
