Clarion Hospital offers a unique service to local employers. The occupational health department, HealthWorks, was created in 1994 in order to provide a link between the hospital and the business community. Services such as pre-employment physicals, drug screenings, breath/saliva alcohol testing, audiometric screening, immunization programs (flu, Hepatitis B, TB), random drug testing, pool management, pulmonary function testing and worker's compensation case/injury management are offered to clients.
Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. We are located in the Marianne Family Practice building on Paint Boulevard in Shippenville. We perform services at several satellite locations for your convenience.
The staff at HealthWorks can provide OSHA and NIOSH mandated courses as well as general staff enrichment and safety courses. For more information, please click here.
Several classes are offered in conjunction with Clarion Hospital's physical therapy department. These programs, which include Work Hardening/Work Conditioning, Post Offer Screening, Back School, and Neck/Arm School, are designed to reduce injuries in the work place and/or assist those who have been injured in returning to the work force.
HealthWorks also presents Wellness and prevention programs, First Aid in the Workplace, CPR, and bloodborne pathogen classes, designed to help employees stay healthy. Health care services are specifically tailored to meet the needs of the clients.

Ronald Grubb, D.O., is the medical director of HealthWorks. A member of the hospital's active medical staff since 1997, Dr. Grubb is a family practice physician at Marianne Family Practice in Shippenville. He is a graduate of the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and was certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.
The occupational health department staff also includes Jeannette Musser, program director, MaryEllen Stahlman, LPN, Occupational Health Nurse and Cathie Zacherl, RN, workers compensation case management nurse.
