| Clarion Hospital’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) will be offering an EMT course to begin March 25 and run through August. Class sessions will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings and an occasional Saturday at the Clarion Hospital Education Center.
This course is designed for anyone who is interested in a rewarding and challenging career in emergency medicine. An EMT (emergency medical technician) responds to emergency calls, providing efficient and immediate care to the critically ill and injured, and may transport patients to a medical facility. Training includes sizing up the scene for safety, identifying mechanism of injury or nature of illness, and learning to triage multiple patients. Students will also learn extrication and assessment in the case of severe motor vehicle accident involving entrapment.
