In September 2003, Clarion Hospital opened a state of the art, free-standing cancer center. Located on the Clarion Hospital campus, the center offers both chemotherapy and radiation oncology services. Patients no longer have to travel great distances outside the area for state of the art cancer treatment. Care is now provided close to home where the patient is surrounded by family and friends.
Our team of caring professionals works under the medical direction of Robert Luderer, D.O. Dr. Luderer is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. The radiation therapy unit is directed by Joanne Dragun, M.D. Dr. Dragun is board certified in radiation oncology. Additionally, the center is staffed by highly-trained, compassionate nurses, many of whom have obtained their oncology certification. A number of cancer survivors are either employed or volunteer at the center, offering empathy to our care.
Our patients enjoy consistency throughout their course of treatment, with the same physicians and nurses providing care from the beginning stages through completion and follow-up.
The Cancer Center at Clarion Hospital is a member of the Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC). Since 1974, ACCC has been the leading national multidisciplinary organization that defines quality care for patients with cancer.
