Clarion Hospital provides a wide range of employee benefits.
Medical Plan
We provide a comprehensive Blue-Cross/Blue Shield Highmark PPO health insurance product for our full-time and eligible employees. As a plan, many opportunities are available for you to save out-of-pocket dollars by utilizing their broad network of skilled providers. Our Home Host provision can save you even more when you take advantage of exercising your care at Clarion Hospital. Our coverage options include individual, you & children, you & spouse, you & family, or no coverage. You may decline coverage and receive a $100/mo in your paycheck.
Dental Plan
Our United Concordia dental coverage includes Diagnostic and Preventative, Basic Restorative, and Major Restorative services. It also provides Orthodontia services for dependant children under the age of 19. Our coverage options for Dental and Vision are individual or family.
Vision Plan
Vision Benefits of America offers coverage that applies toward the cost of an eye examination, lenses, frames, and contact lenses.
Life Insurance/Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Plan
This MetLife Group plan is paid for by the hospital for all full-time and part-time (minimum of 20 hours regularly scheduled per week) employees. The amount is two times your annual salary to a maximum of $50,000.
Short-Term Disability
As a means of providing regular income, this MetLife short-term disability plan pays 60% of your pay, with a maximum of $400/week, up to 26 weeks, to you when you are unable to work due to a covered disability. This plan is also paid for by the hospital for all full-time and part-time (minimum of 20 hours regularly scheduled per week) employees.
Defined Contribution Pension Plan
Employees who are employed from January 1 – December 31, and work 1000 hours or more each year, receive a company contribution to their account equal to 5% of his/her annual gross salary at the end of each year. Participants are vested upon completion of their 5th year of participation in the plan.

Cafeteria
Employee discounts on most cafeteria purchases are available immediately upon employment.
Credit Union
Clarion Hospital is a member of the Clarion Onized Federal Credit Union, which offers financial services to our employees. Payroll deductions may be made by employees to deposit funds into a checking account, savings account, and/or to make loan payments.
Day Care Services
Employees currently pay $2.10/hr for their first child and $1.05/hr for each additional child in our on-site daycare facility.
Direct Deposit
Direct Deposit is mandatory for all new hires. You may choose to have your paycheck divided between several checking and/or savings accounts.
Employee Help Line
Free confidential consultation services with qualified mental health professionals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week are available for you or someone you care about. This benefit is available immediately upon employment.
Health Club Membership Discount
In support of Clarion Hospital’s “Healthy Friends” initiative, the Clarion YMCA offers employees a 10% discount for membership, which includes free childcare (during posted hours), reduced class fees, and a full range of fitness equipment and activities. Payroll deduction for fees is available.
Health Complex Pharmacy
The convenience of payroll payments adds to the handiness of having your prescriptions supplied by the Health Complex Pharmacy located next door to the hospital. This facility also supplies a “mail-order” supply level without having to “wait for the mail”.
Paid Time Off (PTO)
Clarion Hospital has adopted a Paid Time Off (PTO) program to provide employees with choices and flexibility in how they use their paid time away from work, and to avoid as much as possible the adverse impact on staffing and quality care that can result from unscheduled absences. Under the PTO program, paid time off benefits (i.e.: traditional vacation time, holiday time, sick leave, and personal time) are accrued on a per-pay basis into one bank. Payment for any time off is made to you from your "PTO" account. The rate at which you accumulate funds in your account is determined by your years of service with the Hospital.
Shift Differentials
Shift differentials are paid at $0.80 for 3-11pm shift and $1.00 for 11pm-7am shift.
Tuition Reimbursement
Applicable to coursework that will lead to improvement in knowledge and/or skills in areas directly related to the employee's current position, or positions for which management holds a reasonable expectation such opportunities will exist at Clarion Hospital
Voluntary Benefits
All FT & PT Employees are eligible to participate in the following types of benefits by paying the full premium. Payroll deductions are available. Notices will be made available from HR during the annual open enrollment time.

Voluntary 403(b) Retirement Plan

Worker's Compensation
Medical care and partial replacement of wages for on-the-job injuries are available through Worker's Compensation insurance. This benefit is paid entirely by the Hospital and is available to you immediately upon becoming an employee.
